Making cardboard honeycomb

The Honeycomb thanks to the lightness and robustness of the honeycomb structure,
is used in the production of honeycomb panels for the creation of furniture, internal doors, furnishings, exhibition stands, advertising panels and represents the soul of NIDOPAN®: alveolar cardboard panel.

Honeycomb cardboard is produced with paper of different weights in relation to the size of the cell, which varies from 8 to 30 mm.
In case of specific needs and upon request, it can be cut to size.

The paper honeycomb can be:

Honeycomb

DRILLED

The perforated (drilled) honeycomb favors the expulsion of the steam that is created inside the honeycomb panel in the hot pressing production process.
The paper honeycomb is micro-perforated in all its cells during its creation.

The expulsion of the steam guarantees greater safety in the final quality of the honeycomb panel. This additional processing is not available in all cardboard honeycomb cell diameters.

Closed Continuous

The continuous closed honeycomb is produced by gluing individual pieces of honeycomb paper together, so as to create a single continuous piece.
The length, calculated in linear metres, varies depending on the customer’s needs.

The closed continuous cardboard honeycomb is expanded (opened) using a particular system that opens it and cuts the pieces tailored to the user’s needs.
The continuous closed is mainly used by producers of wooden and/or aluminum honeycomb panels and by large consumers who do not have large warehouses to store the already expanded honeycomb. To continuously expand the closed honeycomb and bring it to size,
we can provide the expansion system.

The The expanded honeycomb (or open) is supplied already cut to size both in length and width, dried and packaged with heat-shrink film.
